Raft Up 08 - Best Yet?

RaftUp 2008 has definitely gone down once again as one of the best days of the year....... Every year it continues to grow, exponentially it would seem.  Four chartered boats left from different locations in Fremantle to come together in a once quiet Thomson's Bay and RaftUp began.  Despite being 9:30 am everyone on board was very quick to jump on the Amstel, Sky Blue Vodkas and other beer and premixes on board, and once all the 14 speakers were connected DJ Gooch, still jetlagged from his flight directly from London, was more than ready to get the party started....
As 250 party goers went between boats and jumped in and out of the clear blue Rottnest waters, Dan Peters of Dan Peters' Photography straight from Melbourne caught all the action.
And as the day progressed and things got a little more loose the beats were continued to be thrown down by the very attractive man himself, DJ Mitchie and Perths one and only Damian John, all this was happening whilst  News helicopters flew over trying to catch a glimpse of the Perth event that seems to be THE event to end the year on eveyones calender.......
Thankyou to everyone who made RaftUp exactly what it is........ The best day of the year!! We're all looking forward to what 2009 will bring, although 8 boats might be out of the question, we never fail to deliver and always aim to impress.......standby for news to make 2009 even better !!!!

01.Kuppa Tonight!!!! Charlie Bucket's last night

Before everyone packs up to go home after a busy day at work/facebook refreshing....... just wanted to send out a message to get everyone to head down to Kuppa for Charlie Bucket's last night.

For those of you who missed out last week, he was on fire and focused the moment he stepped in the door, having one patron in particular, pulling off some loose dance moves, we won't name names but he knows who he is.

If you haven't seen this master of funk and scratch in action before, then get down tonight for his last big show at Kuppa.

See ya there

02. The days are getting longer and the nights are heating up!!!

And its about bloody time too........

Summer is nearly officially upon us!! With uni and exams finishing this week for a whole three months and so many of us finally achieving some sort of recovery/sanity from Melbourne Cup Festivities, its time to get back into the swing of things and enjoy whats on offer over the coming weeks.

Thursdays down at Kuppa in Claremont are really starting to pick up and the boys behind the bar Brodey Phillips, James Pratt and Alex Mcgregor are starting to enjoy the extra female attention since the launch of there new cocktail list. Come down this Thursday to check it out and try one while listening to some very funky tunes put down by Damian John and Charlie Bucket from 9:30 pm to 2 am.

Once you’ve got over your rather large Thursday night, and managed to forget everything you learnt this semester, come down to the newest night in Perth @ Gold in Subiaco. “The Black” on Saturday nights is an attitude free, style friendly –that is you don’t have to necessarily be wearing a collared shirt, as long as you look good- event that has Damian John, James Wood and Maxwell playing all the Old Skool house classics from 9 till the early hours.

If you manage to get some sleep or pull off a massive bender, This Sunday will be 28 degrees and sunny and John Morley will give the Cott crowds a dose of "smash your ears out" electro house, this is one not to be missed!! he'll be getting support from Damian John, and fresh faced Cam Duff and Jus Haus - but this ain't no danny Howells gig, so expect it to be bangin' from early on in the day (maybe we should have got dj kolonic to do warm up!!)

Get down early upstairs opens at 3 and relax knowing you've got 3 months til uni starts again, if you haven't finished exams yet... well if you haven't learnt it by now you probably won't anyway so come down and forget about uni, if you aren't at uni... plan a sick day for this Monday - you deserve a day off since we didn't get a public holiday for Melbourne Cup!!

Remember dress standards do apply - no singlets and no boardies. Door charge is a "less than bottle ov beer at fancy disco" - $10.00 or $5.00 if you've got your VIP card.

Looking forward to having a drink and enjoying the good times
